International Day for Climate Protection

Today marks the International Day for Climate Protection. The temperature above the earth’s surface has increased by one degree since the beginning of industrialization. This is the result of calculations carried out by the British Meteorological Service.
If the planet continues to warm, the consequences of climate change will reach catastrophic proportions, climate experts predict.
Researchers believe that the most serious consequences of climate change will be avoided, only if the Earth will not warm by more than two degrees. Otherwise, the agreement signed in 2015 in Paris that guides the states of the Western Balkans to revise their strategies for energy may also be an essential part of the commitment of these states towards integration in the European Union.
The agreement was not signed by Kosovo due to the status it holds in relation to the United Nations Organization, but it is expected that Kosovo will also make changes in relation to the energy plan for the protection of the environment.
