The Kosovo Institute for Nature Protection in cooperation with the Kosovo Company for Distribution and Supply of Electricity (KEDS) have installed the Lejlek platform in the village of Lloshkobare, in the municipality of Ferizaj. The placement of the platform was done near the dry trunk where the stork has nested for years.
This activity is a continuation of previous activities for the placement of platforms with stork nests on several electric poles in several different localities of Kosovo. Otherwise, the installation of this nesting platform, prepared by KEDS, with the guidance and recommendation of IKMN, is practical in many European countries but also in the region.
One of the goals of this activity, in addition to creating conditions for the protection of this rare species of our fauna is to promote a positive example to protect the white stork and its habitat.
